Clairie the adventurous Lizard
Young Lizard Clairie was no where to be seen
and her mother was very worried.

(Cordellia looking for Clairie)
Clairie! Oh Clairie! where are you?
Haven't i told you before
not to wander too far when you are alone!

(Can you see Clairie exploring?)
Maybe she is exploring the neighbours new garden
Cordellia thought to herself.
Maybe i should go and see if i can find her there.
Oh i hope my dear girl has not come to any harm
Clairie! Oh Clairie! where are you?
She looked carefully along the fence
to see if there were any signs
that Clairie may have gone under it
and to the other side.
(Can you see Cordellia inspecting the fence?)
Clairie is rather dangerously daring some times
and she may have climbed all the way up instead
and over it down to the other side.
(Clairie climbing up the fence)
Clairie! Oh Clairie! i hope i can find you safe
I hope nothing bad has happened to you.
She thought of the new puppy next door called ....Ziggi!

A lovely puppy he is but she wondered if he could be
of some danger to Clairie.
She stood quietly beside the fence trying to listen
if there was any activity on the other side.
( Cordellia listening )
She listened but she could not hear anything.
It all seemed quiet.
Maybe Ziggi...was inside the house napping
or maybe he had been taken out for a walk
or maybe he had been taken to the Vet for his vaccination
but Clairie.....where was Clairie? she wondered anxiously again
so she decided to take the path under the fence
and start searching for Clairie over the other side.
Well!...Clairie had indeed being rather adventurous
and climbed over the big fence and all the way down
to the other side of it but before she had any chance
to look around carefully and examine where she had landed
she noticed a kind of hot snorty sniffy air above her
and some white furry paws pretty close in front of her
and wondered how did that happen?
She stood dead still for a few seconds pretending to be a rock
or a dead branch stick until the snorting came closer and closer
to her head just right above her...

and then .......... Arf!..... Arf! ....she heard....
She panicked and decisively bolted for her dear life
away to the nearest tree in her site.
She climbed as fast as a flash and when she was way up high
she stopped there panting!
(Can you see Clairie hiding?)
When she recovered from her fright
she looked down and saw that the snorty, sniffy air
with the furry paws was a puppy
that was now highly confused and was looking to see
where might she have disappeared so fast!
It was a funny sight watching the confused puppy
yet a very desperate situation for Clairie.
Oh Mummy! she thought...
you were right i should not have wandered away
without telling you first.
How i wish you were here with me...
But of course she was not and Clairie had to wait there
until she thought of some good idea on how to get back home.
Lucky for her the lady next door called for Ziggi
and as soon as he heard her voice
he totally forgot all about Clairie and where she may have gone
and went happily hopping away much like a bunny
to a nice meal waiting for him in the house.
It was now all quiet in the garden and Clairie
after waiting for a while to make sure all was safe
started climbing slowly down to the ground.
When she reached the ground she looked around
and did not know where she was
and neither was she sure she really wanted to continue
her exploration.
As she was standing there wary and undecided she noticed
a very furtive movement in the distance...
something that looked or felt kind of familiar...
''Could it be???".....
she thought with some heart stopping anticipation
..."Could it???"......
"Oh PLEASE...Let it Be Mummy!" Clairie thought in despair
She raised her head slightly ....and looked very intensely ahead
....and YES!.......that was Mummy looking for her!
As they noticed each other Clairie run with all her might
as fast as she could and fell into her mummy's
welcoming arms!
They both embraced happily and very relieved
for a few long moments
before they headed back home safely.
Clairie had now learned her lesson
and decided to be more obedient in the future
and listen to her mother's wise advise.
The End
